A successful weekend in Zolder the week before, with good times and top speeds, left me feeling confident for the coming race.
The practice sessions couldn’t of gone any better with me finishing in first place in both trial runs and giving me the confidence to gone on and take pole position. I knew from my practice results that I was good enough to beat everyone in the qualifying rounds.
The confidence worked in my favour and I ended up in pole position for the first race and beginning from 2nd place for the second race. It was turning into a very good weekend already!
Both races took place on Saturday with us having time to relax the day before. I was feeling very positive for this race knowing that I had been the fastest in the qualifying round. I got off to a fantastic start and this only made me mentally stronger. Later it began to rain but this was to cause me little problem and would not get in the way of me winning my first ever race. To make things even sweater it was a “start-to-finish” victory, the best accolade in racing.
The second race got off to a bad start once my clutch became too hot giving me no friction at the beginning of the race. This caused me to fall back 2 places to 4th but didn’t stop me racing well and reaching top speeds.
With little time until the next race in Spa-Francorchamps, things were looking up for me and the focus now was more success and regular podium appearances.
